When this mama-to-be reached out to me about taking their Dallas pregnancy announcement I was so excited! These two (now three!) were already planning to vacation in Dallas to celebrate mama’s birthday. And now they had the news of expecting their first baby to celebrate too!

Before all of our sessions, we send all of our clients a questionnaire. One of the questions asks what they want to remember most about this season of life. The response from these two reminded me just how special my job is. “The pure JOY and excitement of our news! We are so blessed and happy that God chose us to be parents. Yes, they are already one year! Can you even believe it? First Birthday Cake Smash Sessions is such a fun way to celebrate this HUGE milestone with your little one. Not to mention one day you will be looking back at the photos together with your baby!

We always recommend getting in touch at least few months in advance, and scheduling the actual baby session in about 1 month prior to the actual birthday. This way most likely you will receive the images back in time, especially if you plan on printing them for the party, announcements or thank you cards.Now the part mostly anticipated ! CAKE SMASH PHOTOGRAPHY

We did it again! Another successful first birthday session! Oh it was so much fun watching this little guy. Not to mention we photographed him as a newborn as well. It is always an amazing feeling as a baby photographer to see all the sweet babies come back to us for their Cake Smash Session.

We started the session as usual – with few family portraits. One day these portraits will be such a sweet memory for his parents.

We always encourage parents to jump in the photos. Even if you don’t feel like doing it now. One day you will be so happy you have done it. This is also the perfect way to make your baby more comfortable with me taking photos. Some babies at this age are very aware of strangers around them, and may need extra TLC during the shoot. I completely understand and would do anything to make your little one happy during their milestone photoshoot.

That being said after the photos with both parents and family all together, it’s finally time to photograph just your baby. Before we jump to the Cake Smash part, I will photograph your baby sitting on the floor, and capture all candid shots of baby playing and moving around or if he/she is comfortable we can take photos with some cute, minimalistic props. We have all probs at our natural light studio but of course we encourage all parents to bring any props from home as well.

Now the part mostly anticipated ! Cake Smash, yaaay! Babies reactions are priceless when they see the cake in front of them. Some simply can’t believe. MATERNITY PHOTOS IN DALLAS

As a photographer in the Allen, Frisco, Plano, Mckinney area, I am pretty spoiled when it comes to finding pretty locations for my clients maternity sessions. And these maternity photos in Dallas Highland Park turned out to be some of my favorites! It was such a joy to celebrate this sweet couple’s new little bundle on the way and the journey ahead for them. During their entire session, they were so joyful and excited about their baby girls arrival. It couldn’t have been a more wonderful experience. The day was a bit cloudy to start, but the sun started peeking through the clouds toward the end of our maternity photoshoot.

The best part of the experience was Mom’s reaction to her images. She cried happy tears, which was the best response and such a gift. PREGNANCY ANNOUNCEMENT HIGHLAND PARK

This was the sweetest pregnancy announcement in Highland Park! These two booked our mini pregnancy announcement session, and spending the afternoon with them was so much fun.

Mom and Dad and son Cru were the CUTEST family! They were so joyful throughout the entire session and had the most precious connection to witness from behind my lens. You could feel just how excited they were especially little Cru becoming big brother! They found us through a mutual friend whom we had also photographed for a pregnancy announcement– definitely such a fun way to meet new clients!

Pregnancy announcement sessions are a bit different than our full maternity sessions. They’re simple and sweet and perfect for couples who want a way to share their news with their loved ones in a creative way. They’re also a beautiful keepsake to remember this new journey and cherish forever

Best time to plan Maternity Session

The best time to do maternity session is around 30 to 36 weeks. At this stage the belly bump is showing nicely and it is not too close to the due date. Earlier than 30 weeks the stomach might not be as round and it might not show properly in the photos. Sometimes the session happens later like in this fun maternity session with a toddler. However, usually our clients book maternity sessions around 30-36 weeks for the most part.

3 Tips for Successful Baby Photos

We have been spending a lot of time in our studios this year due to cold, rainy weather recently. Looking on the bright side we have had plenty of time to develop a new offering that we’re so excited about. A lot of you may already know that Huey Family Photography absolutely love photographing babies and we wanted to do more of that and give families an opportunity to document them as they reach new milestones such as sitting and crawling. So, we’re now offering Simple Baby Sessions in our studio in Plano and Frisco!

A simple baby session is a short sessions we call a mini session in the photographer world (approximately 20-30 minutes) in our all-white studio space where we can capture the giggles, curiosity, and amazing cuteness of babies in the 6-12 (ish) month range. I they’ve become one of our best collections we offer and one of our new favorite things to photograph because it’s all about play and giggles and the results are absolutely beautiful! We have a variety of simple props we have in studio such as toys, basket, and white blankets also small chairs that we use to set up simple scenes for babies to explore.
