FRISCO IN-HOME NEWBORN SESSION
One of my favorite privileges ever is being invited into my client’s homes to photograph their precious new babies! It’s one of those feelings that I have the honor of documenting this sweet season of life for them. This Frisco in-home newborn session was so special for me to capture!
Each session brings with it a unique story, a new family, and the opportunity to freeze time and capture the innocence and beauty of a newborn baby. Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting a client's home to photograph their newest addition, and it was an experience I'll cherish forever.
As I set up my equipment, I'm mindful of creating a calm and comfortable environment for both the baby and the parents. Soft blankets, gentle lighting, and soothing music help set the scene, creating the perfect backdrop for our session. I always take the time to chat with the parents, getting to know them and understanding their vision for the shoot. Whether they prefer classic, posed portraits or candid, lifestyle shots, I'm committed to bringing their vision to life.
Handling newborns requires patience, care, and a gentle touch. Each baby is unique, with their own personality and preferences, and it's essential to approach each session with sensitivity and flexibility. Some babies sleep soundly through the entire shoot, while others are wide awake, curious about the world around them. Either way, I embrace the spontaneity and unpredictability of working with newborns, allowing their natural beauty to shine through in every photograph.
As I capture each precious moment – from tiny fingers and toes to fleeting smiles and yawns – I'm reminded of the profound privilege and responsibility that comes with my job. These photographs aren't just images; they're cherished memories that will be treasured for a lifetime. They're a testament to the love and connection that binds families together, even in the midst of sleepless nights and endless laundry.
Newborn sessions with toddlers are an incredibly different experience than a newborn session with your first. You are different, for one, but life looks different this time around as well. Toddlers can be wild and a bit unpredictable, forcing expectations to go out the window. This session worked so well because these two let their toddler be herself and have a good bit of fun with baby brother. I directed when possible, but a lot of this was truly just letting their life as newborn parents unfold. In my opinion, that’s when the most beautiful moments happen. It’s why I love lifestyle in-home sessions.

I’ve known this precious family for some years now. We first met when they asked me to do their firstborn’s newborn photos and then family photos in the years that followed. Now they’ve welcomed baby number two and invited me back into their home to document photo/video of their first few weeks as a new family of 4.
